Wegovy, Vyvanse and Keto: My Personal Triangle for Fat Loss and Focus

Wegovy, Vyvance and Keto

If you are anything like me (Hey I’m Stephen), you have probably tried a dozen different approaches to eating, supplements, and staying on track.

Some were great and I can notice

Some worked for a bit.

Some left me frustrated.

In 2025, I have been experimenting with a powerful triangle that is finally moving the needle: Wegovy, Vyvanse and Keto.

I really love playing with this stuff for myself, so thought it would be worth sharing.

This is not medical advice, it is just my story. But I know there are plenty of people out there trying to juggle appetite, ADHD, and metabolism all at once. Here is what I am learning as I test this on my own body.

Why Wegovy, Why Now

I started Wegovy in August 2025 at 99kg. The goal is 92kg, the final stretch after losing 16kg earlier in the year. Wegovy helps by:

  • Reducing appetite so I no longer feel like I am wrestling myself all day.
  • Slowing digestion so I feel satisfied for longer.
  • Helping me stick to a proper fasting window without the mental noise.

But Wegovy is not magic. You still need a structure, especially when ADHD is in the mix.

How Wegovy and Vyvanse Work Together

Wegovy works through the GLP-1 pathway. It mimics a natural hormone that tells your brain you are full and tells your stomach to slow down digestion. The result is fewer cravings, smaller meals, and a much steadier appetite.

Vyvanse, on the other hand, is a stimulant pro-drug. It converts into active d-amphetamine in your body and helps boost dopamine and norepinephrine. For people with ADHD, that means sharper focus, less chaos, and a smoother ability to follow through.

Here is where it gets interesting. Both medicines reduce appetite, but in different ways. Wegovy takes away the gnawing hunger that often leads to overeating. Vyvanse reduces impulsive eating by calming ADHD brain wiring. Together they create a one-two punch: fewer physical cravings and fewer mental compulsions.

Another layer is the way they interact with energy. Wegovy can sometimes make people feel sluggish because of slower digestion. Vyvanse balances that with a clean mental drive. It is like having a governor on your appetite but a spark plug for your focus. The challenge is making sure you still hit your protein needs and avoid under-eating to the point of weakness.

What I am finding is that timing matters. I take Vyvanse first thing on an empty stomach so it kicks in fast. Wegovy is a weekly injection, so it is always there in the background doing its job. Together, they allow me to eat in a 6-hour window, stay productive all day, and avoid the crash and binge cycle that used to hold me back.

Keto as the Base Layer

Why keto? For me, it keeps things simple and appetite steady. And when Wegovy is already flattening hunger, keto means I do not waste my few meals on blood sugar rollercoasters.

My rough daily structure looks like this:

  • 6:30am → Walk (1 hour)
  • Before walk: Vyvanse, TMG (1g), Calcium D-glucarate, NAC (600mg), probiotic, electrolytes
  • 7:45am → MCT oil coffee with creatine
  • 10:00am → Psyllium husk
  • 11:00am → Shake #1 (50g protein, blueberries, fibre)
  • 3:00pm → Shake #2 (50g protein, blueberries, fibre)
  • 5:30pm → Dinner (meat and eggs, olive oil, maybe simple veg)
  • 7:30pm → Evening stack: Added Sleep supplement (includes magnesium glycinate and taurine)

That is it. Clean, repeatable, and ADHD-friendly.

Things I Have Learned Along the Way

  1. Protein floor matters. I aim for 140 to 150 grams a day. Wegovy suppresses appetite, so shakes are my safety net.
  2. Electrolytes are non-negotiable. Keto and Wegovy both deplete sodium and potassium. If I skip them, I feel flat.
  3. Do not dump fat. Wegovy slows stomach emptying. Big fatty meals mean nausea risk and gallbladder stress. Small, steady fats like MCT, olive oil, and eggs sit much better.
  4. Consistency beats perfection. I used to force-feed protein out of fear I would lose muscle. The truth is, if I am lifting two to three times a week and hitting my protein floor, I am good.
  5. Sleep is the hidden glue. If I do not sleep, nothing sticks. That is why I built Added Sleep into my own routine. Magnesium glycinate and taurine calm my nervous system, stop the overthinking, and help me actually recover.

FAQ: Wegovy, Vyvanse and Keto

Can you take Wegovy and Vyvanse together?

Yes, they can be used together under medical supervision. Wegovy works on appetite and digestion through the GLP-1 pathway, while Vyvanse boosts dopamine and norepinephrine for focus. They do not have direct drug interactions, but both reduce appetite, so it is important to maintain adequate protein intake.

Is it safe to do Keto while on Wegovy?

Keto can work well with Wegovy since both reduce hunger and stabilise blood sugar. The key is avoiding very high-fat meals, which may slow digestion further and increase nausea risk. A moderate keto approach with plenty of protein and electrolytes is best.

Will I lose muscle if Wegovy and Vyvanse suppress my appetite?

Not if you protect your protein floor. Aim for 120 to 150 grams of protein daily, lift weights two to three times a week, and use protein shakes if you struggle to eat enough.

Does Vyvanse change how Wegovy works?

No, they act through completely different mechanisms. Wegovy works hormonally, Vyvanse neurologically. The main overlap is appetite suppression, which means you need to be intentional about what food you do eat.

What supplements help when combining Wegovy, Vyvanse and Keto?

A good probiotic, electrolytes, NAC, calcium D-glucarate, and TMG support gut, liver and brain health. For sleep, Added Sleep (magnesium glycinate, taurine, and more) can help calm the nervous system and improve recovery.

Final Thoughts

For me, the triangle of Wegovy, Vyvanse and Keto has been the missing structure. Wegovy calms the appetite, Vyvanse sharpens the focus, and keto keeps my body running clean.

It is not effortless. You still have to respect the basics: protein, electrolytes, training, and sleep. But the difference is I no longer feel like I am fighting myself every hour of the day.

At Added Nutrition, we are working on a supplement called Added Sleep, which includes magnesium glycinate, taurine, and a bunch of other compounds to support deep, restorative rest. Stay tuned. Join the wait list if you want to be part of it.
